Why We Love It
The southernmost capital city of all 48 United States is located in central Texas--welcome to Austin ya’ll! It’s a city known for its barbecue, live music, and liberal politics in a sea of red. The city’s unofficial slogan, “Keep Austin Weird”, was coined in an effort to protect the character of small, local businesses back in 2000 (hey, we know a thing or two about that!) and the creative, entrepreneurial mindset is alive and well.
A city that's fueled by creative minds and hard-working entrepreneurs, you'll find a local shopping street filled with carefully curated shops in each direction of the city. From cutting-edge fashion shops, gift shops, jewelry shops, vintage shops, artist showroom, and women boutiques - all making up the best of the Austin shopping scene. As the city approaches a population of 1 million and traffic reaches L.A. levels of awful, there is still something really small, homey, and genuine about the culture here.
- Austin is nearly the same size as New York City.
- Austin is considered the live music capital of the world because of it's 200 live music venues and 2,000 bands and performing artists.
- Austin is well known for its food truck scene. There are close to 2,000 food trucks throughout the city.
