We celebrate Black History Month locally and remember the great Civil Rights Activist who made many visits to Nashville to champion the cause of equality. He visited in 1960 to commend the Fisk University students on a successful and peaceful sit-ins. In response to his experience here he said these famous words
“I came to Nashville not to bring inspiration, but to gain inspiration from the great movement that has taken place in this community.”
Let us all continue to love our neighbors and lead the way in our great city to fulfill Dr. King’s dream.
